MicroPellet Quantitative strains

Freeze-dried microbial strains in the form of pellets which, when dissolved with the rehydrating solution supplied, give a suspension of known strength.

They are used for quantitative sowing, when it is necessary to know the number of UFC. Strains with known concentrations are ideal for fertility tests, selectivity tests, therefore growth promotion testing, challenge tests etc.

Mecconti titrated microorganisms are available in three types:

• Micropellet RT: 100-1000 CFU/pellet, in suspension equals 10-100 CFU/dose of 0.1 ml. EP compliant, e.g. growth promotion test
• Micropellet RT10: 1000-10000 CFU/pellet, in suspension equals 10-100 CFU/dose of 0.1 ml. EP compliant, e.g. growth promotion test (large users)
• Micropellet RTPlus: high count/pellet. Challenge test
