Peptones and extracts
Ingredients, peptones and extracts for culture media formulation
Culture media must be formulated to provide an adequate balance of nutrients, both qualitatively and quantitatively, to support optimal microbial growth.
Microorganisms require sources of energy and carbon, such as sugars or amino acids, which vary depending on the target microorganism. For example, some microorganisms can break down complex molecules like starch or cellulose. Peptones provide part of these components, but simple sugars such as glucose or lactose are often added.
As a nitrogen source, microorganisms can utilize amino acids or more complex proteins found in peptones, as well as in vegetable, meat, or casein extracts.
Macronutrients such as phosphorus, sulfur, calcium, magnesium, iron, and essential amino acids are also important and are supplied in the form of salts, vitamins, or blood.
Condalow® Peptones for bioprocesses such as fermentation
Low-endotoxin peptones (<200 EU/g) that do not require ultrafiltration. They are an excellent source of peptides, vitamins, and carbohydrates, stimulating cellular and bacterial growth in culture media. Cell cultures are an ideal tool for producing biomolecules of high therapeutic value.
A unique and innovative production process preserves essential growth factors and biomolecules.
