Filter funnels, together with membranes, represent the fundamental component of the filtration section of the filtration system.

Designed to ensure durability, reliability, and ease of sterilization, they are ideal for laboratory applications that require high quality standards.

Filtration manifolds connected to a vacuum pump
Compact suction systems, such as the WaterVac

Components of the Filtration System

The filtration process occurs by passing a fluid through a filtering device in order to separate, on one side, the particles to be filtered and, on the other, the filtered fluid.

Filtration takes place by applying a pressure difference that accelerates the passage of the fluid through the filter. In the case of membranes and filter funnels, vacuum pumps are used to draw the fluid through the filter.

The filtration system therefore consists of:

Funnel with filter membrane
Filtrate collection system, which can be:
- Filtration manifold (3, 6, or 12 positions)
- Receiving bottle (1 position)
Vacuum pump

Filtration manifolds allow simultaneous processing of multiple samples.

Bottles, on the other hand, are dedicated to a single position.

Compact systems are also available, such as the 1- or 2-place WaterVac, which functions as a vacuum pump and drains the liquid directly into the sink, significantly reducing the space required.

Connection can be made in two ways:

Snap-fit connection for Rocker spin-lock manifolds and WaterVac
Universal silicone stopper connection for Rocker and non-Rocker manifolds, WaterVac systems, and receiving bottles

Glass Funnels

Compatible with:

Classic filtration systems with receiving bottle
Compact WaterVac filtration systems
Filtration manifolds

Connection is made with a universal silicone stopper for Rocker and non-Rocker manifolds, WaterVac systems, and receiving bottles.

Autoclavable PPSU Funnels

Compatible with:

Classic filtration systems with receiving bottle
Compact WaterVac filtration systems
Filtration manifolds

Connection is made with a universal silicone stopper for Rocker and non-Rocker manifolds, WaterVac systems, and receiving bottles.

The connector is detachable from the support base and allows the funnel to be connected to the vacuum source or to various types of vacuum flasks and bottles.
