Chocolate Agar CHOC
Non-selective medium, enriched for the growth of difficult-to-cultivate microorganisms. With horse blood, for demanding organisms (Haemophilus, Neisseria etc.).
They are 90 mm or 150 mm Petri dishes containing agar medium. Depending on formulas, they are used for the isolation, cultivation and counting of microorganisms, for the maintenance of cultures, for the identification and study of biochemical characteristics, for the evaluation of the activity of pharmacologically active preparations (antibiotics; inhibitory substances) etc.
