The contact plates

Contact plates are plates containing specific culture media for the microbiological control of surfaces. Sampling is performed by applying the meniscus of the agar medium to the surface, which protrudes from the edge of the plate. Contact with the surface should be approximately 10 seconds. After sampling, the plates are incubated at the necessary temperature and for the necessary time.

Neutralisers

Neutralizers (Lecithin, Tween 80, Histidine, Sodium thiosulphate) counteract the effect of disinfectant agents used on surfaces, to allow the growth of surviving microorganisms.
