PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS

SecurEline® pouches and reels are intended to contain medical devices, resist the sterilization process allowing the sterilization of the contents, allow the preservation of the contents in sterile conditions.

SecurEline® pouches and reels are compatible with the following sterilization treatments:

• Plasma (H2O2)
• EtO (Ethylene oxide)
• Radiation

The pouches are equipped with Type 1 process indicators (EN ISO 11140-1), printed with water-based ink. These provide an indication for the user as they identify whether the barrier system, together with its contents, have already undergone one of the sterilization treatments indicated above. Indicators follow the criterion:

• Sterilization with Plasma = Pplasma indicator from red to green
• Sterilization with ethylene oxide = EO indicator from blue to yellow / brown

SEALING METHOD

The sealing on the 4th side for pouches, and on the 3rd and 4th side for reels, can be carried out with all thermosealing machines suitable for the constrution materials of SecurEline® products. It is advisable to refer to the International Standard EN 868-5 for the correct setting parameters (temperature, pressure, speed) in order to guarantee the desired minimum resistance according to the sterilization method employed.

The melting temperature of polypropylene is 175°C.
