Glassware for the LAL test must be apyrogenic and free of interfering substances.
The gel-clot method is performed in glass test tubes, and the kinetic methods also use glassware when a tube reader is employed. Glass test tubes are also recommended for preparing serial dilutions of CSE or dilutions of the product under analysis.
Apyrogenic pipettes are used to dispense LAL water for reagent reconstitution or for preparing serial dilutions.
Glass vials are used for sampling.
